Canadian Rental Association Releases 2026–2030 Equipment Rental Industry Forecast Showing Strong Growth Ahead
Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada - The Canadian Rental Association (CRA) today announced the findings of the Canadian Equipment Rental Forecast Summary (Q1 2026), revealing that Canada’s equipment rental industry is positioned for steady and sustained growth through 2030, despite broader economic challenges and ongoing trade uncertainties.
According to the report, equipment rental revenue in Canada is projected to rise 5.0% in 2026, reaching $8.9 billion, with further growth of 5.8% in 2027. By 2030, the industry is expected to exceed $10.8 billion in total revenue. As noted in the forecast, “equipment rental revenue in Canada is estimated to increase by 5.0% in 2026 to $8.9B” and the industry is “expected to exceed $10.8B” by the end of the decade.

Sector-by-Sector Rental Market Highlights
The report outlines strong performance across all major rental segments:
- Construction & Industrial Equipment expected to grow 5.1% in 2026 to $7.0B, driven by both residential and non residential construction activity.
- General Tool Rental Forecast to increase 4.2% in 2026 to $1.6B, supported by non residential building intentions even as housing demand softens.
- Tent & Event Rental Projected to rise 6.3% in 2026, with revenue expected to reach $495M by 2030.
