What is CRA Connect: Punta Cana 2027?

CRA Connect: Punta Cana 2027 is the Canadian Rental Association’s first Caribbean conference experience, bringing CRA members and partners together for education, connection, and strategic conversations in a resort setting.

This inaugural year is a proof-of-concept event, designed to deliver value while exploring a new conference format for the Association.


Who can attend?

This event is exclusive to CRA members and CRA partners. Attendance is not open to the general public or non member organizations.


Is CRA Connect being held in conjunction with a Board of Directors meeting?

No. CRA Connect: Punta Cana 2027 is not being held in conjunction with a CRA Board of Directors meeting.

Any CRA Board members who attend the conference are doing so as members, or partners at their own expense. The only exception is the CRA President, who will attend to represent the Board of Directors.


When and where is the conference taking place?

  • Dates: January 10–17, 2027
  • Location: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
  • Host Resort: Dreams Onyx Punta Cana

Is this a family friendly destination?

Yes. Punta Cana and the Dreams Onyx Punta Cana resort are family friendly, offering options for all ages.

While CRA Connect programming is designed for industry professionals, attendees may bring family members or guests to enjoy:

  • Family oriented accommodations
  • Resort entertainment and amenities
  • Activities for children and teens
  • Dining, leisure, and excursion options for all preferences

Guest / spouse passes to the conference sessions will be available at a cost TBD to attend all conference activities.

Registration, Travel & Commitment Timeline

How does registration work for this event?

As this is the first year of CRA Connect, the process is being rolled out in phases:

  1. Travel & Accommodation Commitment (Now – April 30, 2026)
    Attendees must commit to CRA’s travel and accommodation booking options by April 30, 2026.
  2. Conference & Guest Packages & Early Bird Registration (Starting July 1, 2026)
    Conference packages, including pricing and program details, will be released on July 1, 2026, along with an early bird rate.

What does it mean to “commit” by April 30?

By April 30, you are committing to:

  • Attending CRA Connect: Punta Cana 2027, and
  • Booking your travel and accommodations through CRA’s designated process and dedicated travel agent

This helps CRA finalize planning and ensures the success of this inaugural event.


Will CRA provide travel assistance or booking options?

Do I need a passport to attend?

Yes. A valid passport is required for international travel to the Dominican Republic. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date.


Is travel insurance recommended?

Yes. CRA strongly recommends that all attendees purchase travel insurance to cover trip interruption, medical expenses, and unforeseen circumstances.


Can I use travel points when booking the trip?

When booking group travel, you cannot book with trip with points, however you will earn points on your booking.

Conference Experience

What is included in the conference package?

Conference package details will be released on July 1, 2026. Packages are expected to include:

  • Access to all official CRA Connect programming
  • CRA hosted networking and social events
  • Select meals and receptions

Airfare, accommodations, and optional excursions are booked separately through CRA’s travel program unless otherwise noted.


What kind of programming can I expect?

CRA Connect: Punta Cana 2027 will focus on:

  • Rental industry leadership and strategic discussions
  • Facilitated peer to peer conversations
  • Meaningful networking with members and partners
  • Speakers and panels relevant to the Canadian rental industry

Guests & Activities

Can I bring a guest or spouse?

Yes. Guest options will be available. Guests may attend designated social events and enjoy all resort amenities but may not attend conference sessions unless registered as full attendees.


Will there be optional activities or excursions?

Yes. Optional resort activities and excursions are expected to be available. Details will be shared closer to the event.
